Keeping up with all things Ultra Music Festival this year? Sunday night during the festival’s closing headline set, iconic Australia drum ‘n’ bass act Pendulum made their first appearance as a live band since taking a hiatus in 2012 on the Bayfront Park Ultra Mainstage. It all kicked off with Knife Party who was joined onstage by guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against Machine, Audioslave) for a very special performance of Knife Party’s hit “Bonfire” and the global debut of their collaboration “Battle Sirens,” the first track from Morello's groundbreaking new project Atlas Underground.
Taken from both Morello’s rock roots and Knife Party’s electronic background, ultimately the trio formed on stage for the first time, fusing together a confident mix of crossed genres.
After the monstrous Knife Party set the performance swiftly rotated into Pendulum (which both acts share Rob Swire & Gareth McGrillen), and streamed live on www.Pendulum.com. Even more exciting, Deadmau5 took stage for a live performance of "Ghosts N Stuff" to make the closing set even more historic being the first time this had been performed on a festival stage. This also comes on the heels of the announcement of the bands return whose details are still being kept under wraps. If you were able to check out the performance live at Ultra, or via the live stream, we hope you can share this news with your readers.
